After the Storm...........

.......well actually, this was at the height of yesterday's storm. The view from my sewing room window! The gutters and down pipe leading to one of the tanks just couldn't take the volume of water running off the roof. It wasn't as hot yesterday as it had been when the storms hit on Wednesday but the humidity was still really high. I'm not complaining about that though 'cos I do like a little moisture in the air!!
The paving between the steps on the verandah and the rest of the garden was flooded. We ended up with 28mm of rain for the 24 hours, giving us a total so far for February of 52mm!! Last February's total rainfall for the month was 6mm, big, big difference. No wonder the garden is so lush this year..........

The bonus this morning was these gorgeous droplets of water in the leaves of the Sedum 'Autumn Glory'.
Their big waxy leaves holding little silver teardrops of water................

.........and their still immature, green, broccoli like flower heads, balancing tiny, perfectly spherical drops of crystal clear liquid.........
Natures wonders to behold...................!

Yup - join the club - the rain and the storms were unbelievable in Bacchus Marsh - I think we got 6 inches of rain in two days - I have also posted pics on my blog showing the rain and the rivers which had formed around my home - all good tho, not much damage plus we so need the rain :D

Great photos! In Oakleigh we had heavy rain at work about 4pm - almost vertical through the office carpark, but nowhere near the violent rain happened at Pakenham - I asked the kids....but the relief from the humidity was just as great!
