Mum...........................

This is my Mum with her older brother, taken 1931/32 somewhere in Manchester, England. She was about 3 I think.............

....with her beloved older brother (my uncle Alan) again, this time I think maybe 5 or 6?, Partington Street, Worsley?

Same date and location with her Mum, my gorgeous Nana...........

This one taken about 2 years ago, before Alzheimer's started to take it's toll.

Happy Mothers Day to my Mum and your Mum, hold them close while they are here and more importantly, while they remember what it is to be a Mum.............

Yes, indeed! Enjoy your Mother's Day, Lizzie. I lost my mom 20 years ago and I miss her still. I'm sorry to hear your mom is suffering from Alzheimer's. It's a horrible disease. I know you will treasure those precious moments with her.

Your Mom was such a doll! My Mom has Alzheimer's also - I think this is the last year she may remember me. It's a cruel disease. But I have wonderful children now and I adore being their Mom. Hope your day is a good one Lizzie.

You are so much like your mim - what a gorgeous child - lovely photos - the recent one too. It must be tough to deal with, a horrible disease. But I hope the three generations of mothers in your family all have a wonderful day.

Oh Lizzie, what wonderful photos! Alzheimers is such a cruel disease, robbing us of so much that we love. It must be difficult for your Dad, as well. Happy Mother's Day to you, and God Bless, Michele

Hope you had a happy day Liz, I'm sorry to hear about your mum, it must be so hard. My nan had Alzheimers, I loved her so much and it was very difficult for all of us when she became ill. My memories of her are mainly from before though, when we spent so many happy hours together. I hope you found some happiness today, thinking of you xo

My mum is 8 hours drive away; fortunately my sister and her family were able to visit. I did get to share the day with DD and 11-week-old GS#1 - her first Mothers' Day of course!

The three of us will be going to visit my mum in early June so she doesn't have to spend her birthday alone.

I enjoyed seeing these photos and reading the story. You are pretty like your mum! I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's. It's heartbreaking. I hope your father is doing okay. Seems that they were just celebrating a wonderful anniversary with a beautiful cake and quilt and family all around...nice that you have so many wonderful memories to keep.
