Some better photo's and a Quilt Show.....

I finished Merryn's raggy quilt the other day and the rain is finally holding off for long enough to take photo's outside ...

...still not very bright, but at least the colours are a little closer to reality..

..it still needs a good shake I think, there are still some threads on there.

I took this outside today too, the colours of the fabric are much better....

I started quilting this last night curled up in front of the fire, I'm using Perle thread, size 20, so not too thick..

..but it will be much quicker than quilting cotton. I do like the softness of the Perle thread and of course the speed!!

Today my friend Karen and I went to the Daylesford Quilt Show, put on by the Spa Quilters, fabulous little show for a fabulous little town...

This is 'Nearly Insane' by Jill Sutherland.

..Also by Jill Sutherland...

Not Beijing by Bev Sullivan

Reminders of Japan by Denise Longmire

Chrysanthemum Fractured by Robyn Laurence

I'll have to show you the rest tomorrow, so many fabulous quilts, far, far too many for one post..

You can never have too many quilt pictures Lizzie! Thanks for taking them and showing us! The colours of both your quilts are coming so much more alive outside. They have come out really well. Lovely combinations and great to think of you handquilting by the fire!

Lizzie your quilts are beautiful. I love the colours in the shaggy quilt, they are stunning. Are they cottons or flannels you have used. Love it.

I love your two quilts! All this quilting with perle cotton is new to me -- been seeing a lot of it recently. I bet it's much faster! The quilt will look lovely when it's all quilted! Great pics from the quilt show too! Like you said, such talent!

Thank you my dear friend. That Merryn is one lucky girl to have a Faery God-Mother as yourselfxxxx
So sorry about today. Has been a bit disasterous in some ways. Just as well I didn't come up as the car broke down in the main street of here!
Shall speak soon xxxx

I see - not so Christmassy looking when taken outdoors! Hope Merryn likes it.
