Falling in love............

........with this.........

I've been a Pfaff girl for a long, long time so choosing a Brother for my new machine was a big decision, when I bought my first Pfaff way back when, it cost more than I just paid for this new machine!! How times (and technology) change..

This lovely machine does everything I could ask for and more. What I didn't realise when I ordered it was that it had a knee lift AND not only did I get $700 off the price because it was the end of financial year sale, the table came as a bonus!! Bonus, bonus!!!

It has over 400 stitches, 385 of which I'm sure I will never, ever use, it doesn't do embroidery because I didn't want one that did! I'm in love with the 'start/stop' button and the automatic thread cutter, sigh........I'm just in love!!!
He Who Works (the gorgeous man that bought it for me) is off to work today so I'm going to play with all the delicious buttons and gadgets on this pink wonder.......:o)

We went out for dinner last night with my brother and sister-in-law, beautiful food at the little restaurant in our village 'While the Billy Boils'. If you're a local within reasonable distance, you should give it a try, fabulous atmosphere, cosy with fires burning, great food and wonderful friendly service.

..my brother gave me this beautiful miniature orchid for my birthday, isn't it gorgeous......

..look at the tiny wooden ladybird on the leaf, love it!

That's the end of my extended birthday celebrations, not bad, I've managed to stretch it to 10 days, pretty good I think ;o)

Catch you later when I've got some sewing to show you........

Hi Lizzie,
You have the model that superceded mine - lol. I wasn't a Brother fan either until this machine and I too love it. Next one will be a Brother too, thats how in love with mine I am.
Pretty orchid, havent seen anything that small.
So glad your birthday has been a continuous celebration, they work better that way for some reason.
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine.

I have no experience with a Brother machine so I will be interested in how you like it as you go along. I still have a Pfaff which was top of the line when I purchased it. My husband bought me a Bernina about two years ago. Both are good machines. I don't have an embroidery unit either. That is a whole other sewing craft with lots of expense involved.

Glad your birthday celebrations stretched out. I love the way that seems to happen as we get older!
Your new machine looks tops. I expect to see lots of pics of sewing coming soon.

Oh, what a lucky girl you are!! I am on my second Brother (due to the untimely death via an over-eager puppy chasing the cat across my sewing table & knocking the machine onto the floor)your new baby is beautiful and I am drooling!! You will have to keep us all updated on the fun you have with it!

Isn't the knee lift great Lizzie? I got this machine because it had everything I needed - and I really wanted a knee lift! I'm not bothered about embroidery either, this little dreamboat is the bees knees. You know it has an overlocking foot too with a fabric cutter?! I haven't been brave enough to test that yet!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful mean out with your family! What a beautifully thoughtful gift from your brother!

Hugs sweetie! Enjoy sewing!! Vikki xoxo :-)

Just stopped by your blog today and enjoyed many of your photos and posts. I am a new nana (1st grand-daugher May 20 and I am just loving the excitement of it all. I am from a little town near Ottawa, Ontario Canada and I have a very odd profession - I am a cat-sitter.
Please excuse the photo on the follower box. I don't know why it is all broken up. Must check that out. Nice meeting you, I look forward to your posts and by the way you do not look your age. :) Deb =^..^=x5

looks like a great machine. What made you choose Brother over Pfaff...I always love hearing how people come to their decisions. I have a small pfaff and a big Janome, but haven't decided what my next machine will be. xo
