Sneak peek and a giveaway winner...

I've been absent again haven't I? Honestly, some days I just get so caught up in what I'm doing, which at the moment is trying to get four quilts finished for Christmas, that the day is gone by the time I think I have things to tell you all..!
Anyway, here I am now. What will I do first? Give you a little peek at Sue's quilt which I picked up from the post office today or name the giveaway winner..?
I'm going to show you a tiny bit of the quilt because I can't wait any longer, if you can't wait to see who won the little thank you giveaway, you'll have to scroll down to the end of the post!

The fabulously generous Rebecca from here quilted Sue's quilt and wouldn't accept payment for it, a wonderful job she's done too. It can't have been easy, so many different blocks but her quilting is beautiful, just the right amount I think, the blocks still shine and the quilting brings it to life. Thank you again Bec, my gratitude is endless, it would have taken me weeks (and weeks and weeks).....
I bought some beautiful fabric today to bind it, made the labels yesterday ready to go on the back and when it's bound and labelled I'll show you the full thing..! In the meantime...........

..I know, not very nice am I...

..but I want you to see the whole thing...

..in all it's splendour...!

I'll get the binding machined on tomorrow and spend the weekend hand stitching the binding and labels on, when that's done I'll show you all the finished quilt and I'll tell you what I've called it.

I'm going to be a bit sad when it's all finished, it's been such an incredibly heartwarming and amazing journey.......

If you look on the blog page with the list of names, you'll see that I numbered them. If there isn't a number next to a name, that's because those gorgeous ladies asked not to be included in the giveaway.

OK, so I did the Random Generator thing and I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to put a screen shot on here so I'm afraid you'll have to take my word for it that Mr Random decided that the number he would choose between 1 and 117 was.............

90..! That turns out to be Mary Kanski from Oregon, USA.

Congratulations Mary, I've put together a little parcel of fat quarters and a few little treats to go with them, if you email me with your postal address, I'll get them off to you.

Thanks to all 123 of you that sent blocks, fabric, notes, cards, chocolate, thoughts and prayers for my friend..
Now she's your friend too....
Thank you...xxx

Congratulations to Mary for winning, congratulations to all who contributed for working towards such a worthwhile cause, congratulations to Rebecca for the fabulous quilting (even though that teasing Lizzie does not let us see it all, I can see all the different colours and the patterns and the care with the quilting that has gone into it!! can't wait to see the whole thing!) and most of all congratulations to Lizzie for organising it all, putting it all together and doing all the work! I am sure Sue will so appreciated her special quilt!
