A Hot New Year...

...well, that's what they're saying, hot, hot, hot for new years eve in the city, high 30s ! At last, summer seems to have arrived, but in the meantime here's my girl in Minneapolis yesterday...

...you can tell she's a proud Aussie, she called the snowman Bruce. She's loving the snow although she says this layering clothes business is hard work AND she thought at one stage her nose had fallen off!! It hadn't of course, just very cold :o)

Anyway, back to our heat. It was a beautiful day today, sun shining and a slight breeze, just right for some photo's of my garden....

The rose on this arch is called Apple Blossom, it's a one hit wonder, only flowers once, but what a wonder it is. The flowers last for about four/six weeks I guess and it's just magnificent...

...it's very photogenic...

I wish we had smelly computer, you know, scratch and sniff type thing, then you could enjoy the heavenly perfume of this....

...Philadelphus or the Mock Orange Blossom, it's perfume is heavy in the air all around the shrub, gorgeous.

this is a little Penstamon, I can't remember which variety. We've got quite a lot of these around the garden in different pinks and purples, good colour dotted around the place.

Pierre de Ronsard, the showy princess of the climbers, blooms so heavy and tight they have to hang their heads...

..and a lovely quiet corner, no showy flowers here at the moment, just quiet greens and an old pakoda ornament.

This is no garden ornament though....

..just a little trouble maker who had her day at the vets yesterday for her desexing and microchipping, she was a bit sore and sorry last night but back to normal this morning. Guess the man will need a new pair of slippers...! She's found her voice too in the last few days and for a little ball of fluff she's got the deepest, funniest bark. We just crack up laughing when she barks, she's like a teenage boy with a breaking voice..!

Nothing much bothers Miss Martha on a warm day though...

..she knows the best place to be.....!!

Gorgeous garden shots...and that is one cute little fur ball. One of my visiting dogs - and there have been four of them over Xmas - ate one of my sandals - not pleased but dogs will be dogs.

Naughty puppy chewing shoes LOL - our puppy has thankfully stopped that bad habit in time to start another. Marli has taken to mounting anything and everything *blush* and that is after being de-sexed.
Love the snowman BRUCE lol

Ha! My daughter was in Europe this time last year and we were in a heat wave - it's weird isn't it, the two extremes of weather at the same time.

Love your garden photos and Molly is sooo cute. Buddy was resting in the same position as Miss Martha for most of today too. Have a very happy new year.

What beautiful flowers! And your little one -- sounds like she recovered more quickly than Mia did from her operation. We microchipped Mia at the same time as well. I wonder why they do desexing at a later age on felines. I'd love to hear Miss Molly's bark -- sounds hysterical! Now can you send some warmer weather this way? :D Happy New Year!

The apple blossom is so lovely and tender.. What a surprise that you have Pierre de Ronsard. In France this rose is VERY popular, My friend has 2 plants, flowers the whole year!!!! And the little one is sleeping like our labrador, no shame only love and happiness....

Just had to get my dose of summer by visiting your beautiful garden! And a cheerier start to the day can't be found - your Miss Molly and Miss Martha...
Hoping your daughter has extra layers in Minnesota - we are east of her in Northern Wisconsin and the colder temps are on the way for the weekend.

Wishing you Happy New Year...
