Looking forward to ...........

............great things in 2011. More quilts, more sewing, more puppy kisses, more days with special friends and more time with my gorgeous family..!
Did you all have a great Christmas? I did. Two fabulous days full of family and great friends, great food, good wine, great company...perfect!! Mum and Dad didn't make it for Christmas or Boxing Day this year, Dad had a fall a week ago and cracked a rib so is still sore and stiff but improving everyday..thank goodness! Mum finds it hard to cope when Dad's not making the decisions and she's had a rough week too. She won't leave the house without him and can't even write a shopping list anymore, Dad had to do it so that Bec could do their shopping for them. We saw them twice on Christmas day though, once in the morning then later in the afternoon when we took their Christmas dinner over to them, can't have Dad missing out on his turkey and pork..!

This little girl had a fabulous time with the house full of visitors yesterday....

...and the games you can get up to with bits of fancy wrapping are endless...

These.......

..were greatly appreciated and loved..!

I can't show you the top one yet as it's still waiting to be given (Sarah is in Minneapolis for the next two weeks having a white Christmas) and won't get opened until the end of January, but I can show you the others now....

Bec and Tony were thrilled with this....

...Chris and Anastasia loved this one too....

..and David adored this one..

Elaine look, I love this block...!!

The big guy in the red suit was pretty generous in our house too, he left me a nice little bundle of cash for fabric shopping (you've gotta love a man that knows what you want..!) he also brought me the Hairy Bikers, well.... not them actually, which is just as well as they're a bit big for my lounge room! The DVDs of their shows which is just as good..
The man in my life got a new laptop and some tickets to see Dr Zhivago, the new musical starts in April in Melbourne with Anthony Warlow (you'll know him if you're an Aussie) so we're looking forward to that..

Just to finish off here's a photo from the Christmas breakup up lunch with the Thursday patchwork group, left to right...

..Lin, Eileen, Debbie, Norma, Gudrun, Brigit, Pam, Vicki, Me and Karen...

Are not your little fur balls just too cute for words? They are like kids, open the gift and then play with the boxes and ribbon, VBG. Here's sending your family and especially you dad and mum blessings and lots of good energy for their quick and speedy recovery. I hope that they will heal fast and things will get back to normal for them.
The quilts are just beautifully finished, I am in awe. How lucky your family is to have such a thoughtful person to give such a gift of fabric to wrap themselves in.
Love the get together, you all had such fun.
Happy New Year and blessings to everyone from across the pond.

Cheers,
Bobbie

Lizzy, you are full of wonderful news and I am happy to hear about happy times and lovely quilts! Sarah is over here playing (practically) in my back yard! Minneapolis has record snowfall so she is enjoying the one of the whitest Christmastimes on record. Hope your dad mends quickly. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season. Such cute pups!! :)

E' bellissimo!!!
