Busy week...

This girl (Sam) has been staying for a few days....

...and she's been very busy..! She found a little kit for Jodie's *Pocket Bot* that was hiding on the shelf and just had to have it. She's never made a softie before, so she followed Jodie's excellent instructions to the letter and even though it's a little lop-sided we love it. I have to tell you that she re-named it, you'll love this, it's now called a *lizzie bot* in honour of her Nana :o)
She also made these yesterday....

..for her bed when they move into the new house in March..

The girls from my patchwork group came over yesterday and we had a great sit and chat and eat, it was so lovely to catch up after the Christmas/summer break. Sam made a cake and some cupcakes on Wednesday for the ladies and decorated them early in the morning so they were ready for lunch time ...

They were as yummy as they look too, banana cupcakes, Mmmm Mmmmm!

Jill brought her Dahlia quilt made in French General fabric, isn't it gorgeous? It's just back from the quilters and waiting for the binding.

These little poppets went to the groomers on Wednesday...

Clipped, clean and neat again, well the first time for Molly...

Natalie (our doggie beauty person) said she was a bit wriggly but overall quite well behaved, phew, thank goodness as she's booked in every four weeks from now on..

It was an exhausting day though, she slept for ages afterwards...
Told you it was a busy week didn't I?

Just to finish have a look at this photo..!

We keep a running tally of the monthly rain total on the blackboard door in the kitchen. I've been doing it for about five years now, at the end of the month the total is transfered to a chart on the back of the pantry door and at the end of the year I have an annual total. I think I've become a bit obsessive with it!! Anyway, this is the total for January this year and to bring it in to perspective last years January total was............1mm..!! True, last year we had one mm of rain for the whole month...!

It's raining on and off again today and forecast for more tomorrow...sigh!
Going to do some sewing....

I'm smiling as I read about your time with Sam. :) A wonderful girl and a joy to spend time with for sure! Nice that the two of you share so many interests. You may be busy but you all look content...even the pups. :-D

Wow! Your rain total for the month of January looks like our snow total for the month. Way way more than usual. I think I heard that our snow total was more than 10 inches more than the snow total usually is for the whole winter. So yeah, similar, huh?

Sam is so cute! She's obviously got your crafty genes, doesn't she? Love what she made! Love that she baked for you ladies too. And that quilt! Oh be still my heart! Can anyone resist anything made from French General fabrics? Stunning! I'm glad you got a pic of it!

The little furry ones are so cute!! Is Molly going to be the same size as her older companion? She looks to be catching up for sure! They're both so cute!

First of all, the Dahlia quilt is stunning! Is it a pattern from Somerset in Mt Waverley???

It looks like you have had a great time with your granddaughter and your babies look beautiful with their new haircuts.

Hey Lizzie, I've missed so many posts and have just had a little catch up of yours. Poor you and the spider encounter. Yuk, I hope you're feeling better now. I love all the Aussie Day, grandy and puppy pics, quilts, fabrics and cakes. Adventures with elephants and bobbing cork hats. So much to absorb and such fun. Thanks for sharing the snippets of your life. I love-love-love my trees too. They arrived earlier this week. Woohoo!
Phew! I do ramble on....sorry.
