Distractions.......

I really struggle doing this....

...so when I see this outside my window...

..it's not hard to get distracted by the autumn sunshine, perhaps I need to move my machine do you think?

This little lady is helping with the distractions and the rubbish bin...

These sit on the windowsill and distract my eyes with their soft and restful colours which will last all winter long now...

Some bunny is watching, distracting me with his dark, sweet charms (thanks Jill)....

...this bunny paid the price for distracting me during the movie last night (thanks Gudrun)...

...and now this is whistling at me to go make a cup of hot, strong tea while I wonder how many more distractions I can find so that I don't have to go back to the struggle....!!

I too love all your wonderful distractions Lizzie, and you forgot to mention you are blog reading too!!! It is almost a pity it is not a gloomy rainy day outside so you can get back to the sewing machine, but alas it is a gorgeous one out there!!! xo

They are all very worthy distractions Lizzy...all worth giving your time to.

I dislike quilting also, so only do half hour stretches. That makes it so much more bearable and I'm finished my allotted time before I start going berserk and making a mess. The quilting is then finished in no time at all.

Oh Lizzie, I absolutely always ADORE your photos! Your garden looks beautiful, so serene... I would be easily distracted too... isn't this Autumn sunshine just glorious???

How are you going with your new Brother? I really love mine! Not sure I'd take on a big quilting project though!!! You brave girl!!

Hmmm... about that tea... can I be cheeky and have mine weak with milk??? :-)

Hugs sweetheart - Happy Easter!

That's the reason I sent most of my quilts to a longarmer...Good luck with it all.

All good distractions-especially the sunshine! What about the long arm quilting machine??

Good luck with the quilting, I'm guilty of creating distractions too when it comes to that. Once I settle down I'm ok. You have cooked up a storm for Easter, I hope you had a lovely one and enjoy Anzac day too.

The pull of the outdoors when we are having nice weather is very strong for me too. And the chocolate! I think an extension lead and a table for your sewing machine would look just grand in your beautiful garden!

Well you know what "they"say about chocolade Lizzie...so you leave this quilt be for a while...your room seems to be tidy..so drink your tea..take a walk around your lovely garden and then it will work out..(maybe)...you got a lovely "helper"there..she is so pretty...
We are the hottest country in Europe this Easter...29 degrees it is today..even in Spain they dont have that much...very odd for April...last year we had the rains that never seem to stop..and very cold...but today is tomuch for me...cant see properly in the sun and even in the shade it is to hot with no wind ..so inside Meisje and i went... to do some blogging and doing the same things you are doing i guess...i am a bit ahead though..one chocolate bunny is gone completly..but the other one is alling out to me....have a fine day...greetings Francien.

With a glorious sunny day in your lovely yard, it would be difficult to stay focused on the task at hand....there is a message there too...to take a little break and perhaps come back tot he struggled renewed.
Hope things ended up going well for you! :o)

Ooo! Sunshine! Please send some our way - we are off to the beach for a week this afternoon and the forecast is showers, showers, and some showers! :-(

I like your distractions!

I understand your struggle. My mom is a seamstress, and she taught me the basics. I'm horrible at it though. I can't sew a straight line to save my life, lol. So I stick to hand stitching (mostly cross stitch with some hardanger thrown in.
