Oh my gosh, I'm so excited that my Crimson Tweed is sandwiched, pinned and ready to start quilting....!!

The bonus being of course that the weather today is amazing and I was able to get outside to photograph this...
Today is the last day of Autumn for us here and the sun is warm, no wind on a perfect day...

Ok, enough photo's of the quilt (it is lovely though isn't it?) This little Miss was watching me while I was outside...

..and from the other side...

Oh dear, I think I need to clean the windows...
Ok, I've got some catching up to do on a few Bee blocks before I can sit down and start quilting. I haven't fully made my mind up how I'm going to quilt it yet! Perle or cotton thread? I know I want to outline the applique and quilt snowflakes down the two empty grey borders!! I'm leaning towards a silvery grey Perle thread at the moment..suggestions...??

I seemed to have fixed my blogger problem so I can now post a comment on your blog (and Bee Balm, and Civil War Bride, and many other international blogs...and my own, damn it!). I could post on my blog, and others, but wasn't considered "signed in" when I wanted to comment. Weird. If you anyone experiencing similar issues, send them to my blog to see how I was able ot around their problem.
I LOVE this quilt...lots of interest, cool applique, texture and color. And what a gorgeous day! I know what you mean about the catching up...I think I'm there now!
In stitches,
Teresa :o)

The quilt looks great in the sunlight Lizzie. Grats on the progress so far. And it's nice that you have a place for the little miss to look outside. My cat, Yes Dear, is often glued to the window during the daylight hours!

Oh the quilt is beautiful & I love that where you hung it, mirrors all the colours in it. Not sure how you should quilt it, that's always the hardest decision I find.
hi lizzie,
another beautiful work of art. i reckon perle thread would look nice. and this quilt definitely deserves nothing less than to be hand quilted. will it be adorning your wall?
gorgeous looking weather down there. not so for us. winter has arrived early with this being the 4th day of storms. odd weather really.... quite cold, but these storms are definitely summer type storms.
hugs to me adopted ones. xxo
Beautiful, Lizzie! I look forward to seeing it quilted. And a little cutie wanted to be outside and show off your work :-) Looks like your autumn weather is heaps better than our spring weather!
Lucky you - a perfect autumn day. Here in Sydney it is grey, cold and very wet. We have had a lot of rain in the last three days. Feels like mid-winter already!
Wow that quilt looks impressive. Can't wait to see it quilted.

However you quilt it, it's going to be just lovely! It already is! Congratulations on such a gorgeous piece -- can't wait to see it all quilted! Love the pic of the fur baby on the window sill. Love the window sill for that matter! So wide and lovely! I wish our window sills were like that!
